Sports Institutions in Aalborg
In Aalborg, we take great pride in our sports teams and their influence on our community's social and business sectors. Our excellent sports and cultural institutions enable us to elevate our city, attract quality business and talent, and write exciting new chapters in our city's story.

Aalborg Håndbold is a professional handball club based in Aalborg and founded in 2000. The team plays in the top Danish league and has won six Danish championships and is among the best teams in the world.
Hosting the Danish Championship Week
In 2022 and 2023, Aalborg hosted the Danish Championship Week, a significant sporting event that brings together athletes from all over Denmark. This event features 47 different sports with over 100 disciplines and more than 180 medals up for grabs. The Championships will be back in Aalborg in 2025.
Making a difference for the young
Sports in Aalborg also provide opportunities for youth development and community engagement.
